Canada Child Benefit (CCB) 2026: Rates, Dates, and Eligibility
The Canada Child Benefit (CCB) is a tax-free monthly payment made to eligible families to help with the cost of raising children under 18 years of age. As we move into 2026, the benefit amounts have been adjusted for inflation to provide more support to Canadian families.
CCB Payment Amounts for 2026-2027
For the benefit year starting in July 2026, the maximum amounts are estimated as follows:
- For each child under 6: Up to $7,980 per year ($665.00 per month).
- For each child aged 6 to 17: Up to $6,730 per year ($560.83 per month).
Note: These amounts are gradually reduced based on your Adjusted Family Net Income (AFNI). Families with an AFNI below approximately $36,000 typically receive the maximum benefit.
Key Payment Dates for 2026
The CRA typically issues CCB payments around the 20th of each month. If the 20th falls on a weekend or holiday, the payment is usually issued on the last business day before.
